Partial Hospitalization Lexington Treatment Program

The Lexington Partial Hospitalization Mental Health Treatment Program offers multiple tracks to accommodate individuals' differing levels of functioning.   Specific groups offered in the expressive therapies, such as, music, art and cooking.  The goal of treatment is to increase independence and the quality of life by increasing proficiency in self-care, home management, use of leisure time, and increasing social relations.

We offer structured activities for both the residents of Lexington Program and clients from other Wild Acre Inns Programs that are geared toward:

  •  Improving Daily Living Skills, i.e. doing laundry, cleaning up after themselves, and showering and grooming.
  • Increasing socialization skills.
  • Promoting self-esteem.
  • Improving client's use of free time.
  • Assistance with medical management issues, i.e. taking medications as prescribed, making and keeping appointments with members of the treatment team, and advocating for themselves.
  • Assistance with money management.
  • Improving knowledge of their illness and medications.

All of our activities are designed so that each person can participate as fully as possible. The program assesses the clients’ cognitive ability, and aids them to progress at their own pace in accordance with their treatment plan. This program helps clients develop a sense of confidence in both social and in task related situations to increase skills.  Additionally, Day Program staff work with clients in utilizing community resources and programs that will aid them in reaching their goals.

Lexington Partial Hospitalization Program Structure and Descriptions

The individuals who participate in the Lexington Day Program start their day with the morning Community Update Meeting. This meeting helps to inform the clients of the day’s staff, groups, and special events. The Day Program includes two blocks of groups in the morning with a 10 minute break in between, lunchtime, supervised lunch cleanup with the program members, and one block of groups in the afternoon.  Once a week, there is a structured community outing to places such as museums, out to lunch, to hiking trails, and other places of interest. Groups are led by milieu therapists, expressive therapists, and interns who are training.  The Day program groups evolve based upon the needs and interests of the day program members.
