Independent Living Programs - Gateway Annex  
  The Gateway Annex is shared apartment living designed for the more independently functioning individual who requires minimal supports. The Gateway Annex is part of the Gateway Complex, which consists of a community home and shared apartment living. It provides supportive living in a residential setting that continues to promote independent development. The program is directed towards the individual in need of autonomy as well as sustained support.

Features of the Gateway Annex Program

Participation in the Gateway Annex Apartments requires a minimum of a one-month initiation period at the Gateway Home to increase and practice independent living skills with minimal supports.
The Annex client has a high level of functioning, wants more independence, has attained negotiations skills and requires little supervision.
The Annex holds regular check-in meetings and group apartment meetings.
Program directed and supervised by a licensed master's level clinician.
Clinician and support staff are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Clients are required to maintain 25-30 hours of independent activities weekly.
Emphasis is placed on increasing social interactions and awareness, developing higher functioning skills and familiarity with current events.
Ongoing substance abuse and nutritional supports.
Coordinator meetings with active case management and regular group check-in meetings.
Collaborative contact with residential and outpatient treaters to provide consistent and effective treatment.
Limited supervision of client medication.
