Residential Mental Health Treatment Programs

The Babcock Program is a short-term, community-based, highly structured and goal-focused program designed to reach objectives therapeutically through day treatment, milieu and psychopharmacological intervention.

Features of the Highly Structured Babcock Program: 

  • 24-hour multidisciplinary treatment program supervised by a licensed clinician (Clinical Director) and masters level clinician.

  • Ongoing psychological and psychiatric rehabilitation.

  • Treatment rounds with a board certified psychiatrist.

  • Psychiatric assessments/evaluations and continued psychopharmacology as needed.

  • Daily medication monitoring and education.

  • Program emphasis is on, but not limited to, dual diagnosis, life management skills, vocational rehabilitation, substance abuse relapse prevention and coping skills.

  • Day treatment modalities include: process-oriented, substance abuse prevention, psychosocial, psychoeducational, skill building, and recreational.

  • Babcock is a teaching program.  Under the supervision of masters level clinicians and the Clinical Director, interns lead and co-lead some groups and also assist with case managment.

  • Individual treatment planning and case management.

  • Clients are encouraged to attend support groups in the community such as AA or NA.

Additional Features of the Babcock Program:

  • Ongoing treatment review meetings composed of client, family members, outpatient providers and staff.

  • Weekly coordinator meetings with active case management addressing treatment planning, tracking progress and aftercare/discharge planning.

  • Random drug screening for dually-diagnosed clients.

  • Safe home-like environment monitored by staff.

  • Built-in step-down program which offers supervised independent living.

  • Community evening meals.

  • Wellness activities available in the evenings.
